No idea what kind of spider this is, but it was beautiful and dumb. As I approached to photograph it the spider got scared and took off running... around and around the top of my monopod until it ended up right back where it started. In it's mind it probably covered a few feet. If anyone know what kind of spider this is don't hesitate to share. OR, if you know someone afraid of spiders don't hesitate to share.

No idea what kind of beetle this be

A little Googling suggests maybe a Cottonwood Borer - but the face is not right. Also seems to be a southern bug that feeds on Cottonwood trees - don't think we have any of those around here. Never seen one before

I don't know what sort of insect it is, but I am fairly sure that it is not a beetle, unless it is in a larval stage.
