Cool! That looks like what I would want! When I start to get studio gear, I will put one of these on my list! Thanks my friend for the info! :)

Bill16, I've written a review of the purchase on Adorama's site, but it doesn't show yet.

If you're interested, I'll PM you with my $0.02 worth on the experience.

My current laptop, 8 years old, was just not giving me the speed and results I was looking for. So after an hour chatting and haggling over options and price I choose this laptop.

LOL, I did the same with mine, but not as big a SSD. It improved it. But I convinced my wife it wasn't good enough! Plus, I bought her a new laptop too. Hers was beat to hell.

Decided to start expanding my horizons and stretch my wings.

Dropped a whopping $28 on what is called a Windsurfer.

Windsurfer.jpg

Basically it's a reflector for a drone controller's antennas. Instead of broadcasting the RF signal in a 360° swath, it helps 'beam' the signal to more of one direction. The other half helps 'collect' the signal from the bird, much like your satellite dish.

With my new Phantom 3 Pro, I go out 2,000 feet and I'm down to 3 (out of 5) bars for a signal. Yesterday, I tried this puppy out and went a mile and half out and I still had 5 bars.

I would have gone further but I was approaching some really tall high-voltage lines, and I've heard the electromagnetic field around them can mess with a drone's feeble signals. As I'm not too keen on losing a $1250 drone after just 3 weeks, I turned around and flew home.

HA! Now my idea of a windsurfer would be tall, dark, and handsome! ;) Have fun with it. :)

I just bought FastRawViewer
I spent one or two days contemplating it, But when I thought about reviewing some recent photos; Well it was just not the same.

So now my pocket is $20 dollers lighter, Give or take a few for VAT and whatnot.

Now: Photo reviewing...

Just a silly little convenience thing for me, another tripod mounting plate so I can leave one on my 7100 and one on my 90 and not have to fumble with switching them.

Feeling a little prodigal, been a few months since I've been active here.

I have a few pictures to process taken over the past few months - well a few thousand but who's counting.

Anyway thought I'd get back into the forum sharing thing with a quick share of a couple of "latest" purchases.

I was looking and lusting after the new Tammy 15-30 2.8 - but budget constraints and my frugality got in the way and I came home with a near mint older version of the Tamron's wide angle offering the 17-35 2.8. Not the latest technology but for a quarter of the price of the new lens I figured it would meet my needs and I must say I'm happy with it. Sure the newest and greatest comes with VC which would be nice. But it isn't any faster. I picked it up in the Henry store in Toronto and the sales clerk happened to use this lens for his baby photography business and showed me shots he had taken with this older Tamron - i was impressed. My dear wife offered to buy it for me as a gift - (and thus remove the temptation for me to buy the much more expensive 15-30). I have been using it a lot. I like it. I'll post some images taken with it in the Wide Angle section. But here it is mounted on my D610.

BTW you'll see in the pic the new strap I bought - the Carry Speed ProMark III - as I was looking to upgrade from my neck strap. I'm very happy with it.
