LOL - repatriate the body.
If I get buried in Oz (ie not eaten by a croc but killed some other way) I will definitely be eaten by ants.
Seems I can't win.

I don't use backpacks, but I do own a few Tamrac shoulder bags and/or hip packs. Their quality is excellent! Enjoy your backpacks, Bill. :)

Thank you my friend! My other two backpacks are Tamrac expeditions too, a 8x and another 5 model! They are awesome, and made very well indeed! I use the big ones for storage of my photo gear, and the one of the little ones for film and the other for taking with me when and if I need it! :)

Look what was at the Pharmacy today (that's where us country folk now get our mail).
My new drug of choice - a Tamron 70-300 VC SP F/4-5.6.

Had to mount it onto the 610 and run outside and snap some pic of whatever I saw.
Will post more in more appropriate places - but since there is no "post you silly garden thingy-ma-jigs" I'll post this one here - one of my very first with the new lens. Oh my Boekh that's nice.

For those who really like Tamrac products...today while at my local camera shop, I was told Tamrac was purchased by another company. It's no wonder I had trouble finding the Tamrac N45 camera strap that I like in black.

I own several Tamrac bags, too, and am sorry to hear they were bought out. While I was at the camera store, I bought a Lowepro bag. It has the option to use it as a shoulder bag or to wear it fastened around the waist. This particular bag was discounted since it is no longer made.

If you like Tamrac products, you may want to buy what you can while it's available. The camera store didn't tell me who bought them out...they only said it was a smaller, not-so-big-name company.

I have the Expedition 7x also bought it used from a buddy. He only used it for storing his equipment, so it was basically brand new. Picked it up for $200. Best bag I've ever had.

My understanding is that they were in Chapter 11 early in 2014 and the courts approved the sale to Guru Gear in June of 2015.

Good luck to Guru with the Tamrac line. I've been using Tamrac products for 10+ years and currently have a couple of straps, a Velocity 9X sling and a Pro 8 bag. All have logged thousands of miles and still look good.

Well I'm a bit bummed! The Tamrac expedition 5 was found damaged and the seller had no choice but to refund my money! So no expedition 5 is coming!
So after much searching and not finding another one at the same cost, I bought a lesser model and a Hoya cpl filter!
The back pack I bought is an expedition 3 older version though it is new and I will use it for my film Nikon's!

@Bill16,Well bags are nice and all. I have a Lowepro backpack, but the cpl filter will do far more for your photography. If I might suggest, next time look into their MCR versions. They are suppose to be better still.

I need the packs to protect my gear when not in use, so it is well worth the money! :)
But the filter was the best I could do at the price I could pay this time anyway! :)

Next time though my friend, I need to buy one for my 20mm and I want a real good one for that wide angle lens! Lol : I'll use this one on the 24mm, the 28mm and the 35mm since it is made thin for wide angle lenses! :)

Well I bought two last bags! Two Tamrac 7x shoulder rap around bags for $30 a piece counting shipping! I bought two 7x bags instead of one 9x bag! Lol :)

PS. There are more used bags like these on eBay for about the same price, or the 8x or 9x for about $50 or so! :)

Lol i have both Tamrac expedition 8x,8, and 5 models and these packs I just got today are Tamrac velocity 7x bags that you can slide around from back to front so you don't have to take it off to dig something out of the pack! Lol :)
