Well I'm just getting started in checking out filters! So to keep the cost down but trying to get a decent brand, I'm trying a Tiffen CPL 52mm filter! I've heard of the brand and the filter was low cost at this size which matches several of my lenses! I'm just hoping this filter will help with the harsh lighting I find myself shooting in sometimes! If the filter sucks, thedn the loss is low enough not to hurt too bad!Lol :)
If I would have had the money I admit I would likely have followed a buddy's lead and went with the B+W brand shooting for one I saw costing around $100 and I might still do that for my Nikkor 20mm lens when I have the money to do it since it is a wide angle lens I really like! :)
I'm so looking forward to trying this new direction, using filters for glare and reflection prevention! It should really help when I finally start taking shots with water in them! Badin Lake is close by and might be a great chance to really test this new filter! :D

Well I'll tell you Bill, I keep circular polarizing filters on all my lenses all the time except when shooting indoors. They really do make an enormous difference. For my larger lenses I use my 77 mm filter with step down rings to use it with my smaller lenses and I too favor Hoyas. Be sure to share the results of your research with us and let us know how they are working for you.

I looked at the Hoya brand too, and found the HD2 were the ones that might end up tempting me! Lol yes I'll definitely share some opinions on this Tiffen filter, especially if it does well since it only cost just under $25! :)

Hmmmm, interesting idea
I have a 200-400 that is really not well suited to indoor use and is my wild life lens, maybe I should bet a 77" CPL for that one.
I'd probably go for HOYA although Tiffen's are good too.
The one I have is OK it is a Kenko but only a 58mm. Can't complain about it.

Well I got my new black rapid double harness today, and found that I'll have to use the original attaching method for things to work right! I'm too short to shorten it up so much to add a bos tail! But for extra safety I do have security lanyards from Joby that will hook up to the left strap mount and slide up and down the black rapid strap! A bit more of a pain in the butt to hook and unhook it all up, but all in all doable! :)

I also got my GGS111 glass screen protector and installed it no problems! :) And lastly for today I got my second battery cover for the D4 batteries I'll be using in my D800e battery grip! Things are coming together to get my kit setup like I'm wanting! Woohoo! :D

So, I've been wondering for years if my monitors (desktop and notebook) are calibrated properly. Bought the Spyder 5 and it made some very minor tweaks. Now I know that anything out of whack it totally my fault.

Paterson System 4 MultiReel 3 developing tank system. The one reel on the left came with the tank, the other two are brand-spankin' new. I plan on cannibalizing and retasking the new ones to become a custom 122 reel for when I get my 9cm rolls of FP+ from the Ilford ULF promo this fall and run them through Ye Olde Kodak 3A.

Well my D4 batteries arrived today, but I'm still waiting for the charger to get here so I can try them out in my D800e battery grip! I'm hoping I won't have to wait too long! Lol :)

Also the Tiffen CPL 52mm filter has been shipped and I'm dying to try it out too when it gets here! I'm wondering if I will stick with this brand filters or move to another brand after trying this one out!

I've got a mix of Tiffen and Hoya filters in my bag. Most all of my Tiffen filters are 52mm since I started with them when I used the N6006 film body, but then started getting Hoya filters when I started needing the 77mm variety. Didn't have any problems with the Tiffen filters, just migrated naturally after feedback here and what was in stock at the camera shop.

I have one of those Tiffen 52mm CPL filters. I have no complaints.

You liking the Hoya filters better now that you've used both? Oh and when are you going to put your D610 in your signature with your other bodies my friend? Lol :)
