A used Gitzo 1220 aluminum tripod arrived today. I bought it for $100 USD shipped which included the original box. I'll be using it as my dedicated video tripod.

These Gitzo tripods are just too awesome and are built to last a lifetime. :D

So, here is my "new to me" used tripod right next to my CF 3 series Gitzo tripod. These tripods are just built to last.

Well, I have gone and done it again. At least the delivery truck got here before my wife, so it gives time to make up a story.
@Blacktop, this picture is for you. Its a picture of a picture of the lens I just got using the lens I just got. Say that 3 times fast.

Please welcome the new baby and the fact that you won't have to hear me say, I really want a 70-200 f2.8 II anymore. Also, I will be selling my 70-200 f4, which is in excellent shape if anyone is interested then let me know.

That is one cool looking lens! Congrats my friend!I wish I could afford to buy your older lens, but I'm afraid my buying has been curtailed for awhile! Lol :D

Bill took me around a year for this one, its just something that I couldn't escape as it was always on my mind. Mine will be curtailed for a while after this one.

Congratulations. It is probably a good thing you got to the delivery truck before your better half or that might not be the only thing that got curtailed.

Congrats! Can. you do a bokeh comparison between the two lenses?

No I haven't, raining today, go figure. I have a shoot tomorrow so not sure which lens to take at the moment seeing how I have only taken one shot with the new one. I did find some great comparison pictures today and the 2.8 does better for sure. I plan to try my normal test shot with it when the sun comes out. I could live with the F4, its a great lens but really needed the extra stop and also want to add a TC to increase the range a little.

All I have to say is I will have some serious biceps from using this thing, wow its heavy.

Randomly searching "Nikon" on craigslist as usual and saw this little guy had been posted 13 minutes earlier for $95 dollars. Emailed immediately and picked it up 2 hours later. Brand new just didn't use the camera anymore. She was from Finland and forgot to do the currency conversion so accidentally posted it for $95.

Well, I didn't exactly "buy" this, but another photographer and I exchanged camera bags. :) He got my Lowepro Messenger Pro 180 and I got his Lowepro Slingshot 300. We're both happy. :) I love my Lowepro bags. Got 4 of them. :)

Since my tripod has been taken over by my Wimberly Gimbal head, I broke down and bought a second tripod. It's one of the cantilever Giottos tripod with the spiral locking system. I'm in love with it, you can do so much more with it than I ever could with my standard Giottos tripod.

I cannot get the link, it keeps saying "add blocked"

But it means you will have a spare for when I visit ;)
