Just ordered a Diat CM-294A tripod with DH5 Ball Head. A carbon fibre tripod for £137.99. I will give everyone my thoughts on it once it arrives and I give it a few tests.

Congrats! Not familiar with that one... look forward to your thoughts when you get it!

I hoped they would since I wear cowboy boots, but no such luck! Darn! Lol :)
I've thought about that, but the straps have similar issues and with some care I don't believe it will be too bad. Besides this won't be for everyday carry! Just for times I'm wanting two cameras handy! :D

Do spurs come with that?! ;) I like the idea a lot. But, honestly, I would be nervous about bumping my cameras into things with this.

I just ordered the Delkin Snug-It Pro skin from B&H for my D610. Years ago I bought some type of leatherette cover for my Minolta XG-M 35mm camera. I loved it, and it protected the camera body from getting marred or scratched. Apparently this Delkin Snug-It skin and the easyCover skin are made by the same parent company but manufactured under different names to different countries.

According to one of the reviews, the skin is rather slippery (probably a deterrent to keep dust and fibers from sticking to it), and another reviewer mentioned that the open edges tend to curl slightly. It will be interesting to see how well it works.

My bracket arrived aswell, but I did not realise I needed a special head for it lol so I have ordered a Arca Ballhead BH-1 which will take my camera weight and 80-400VR with ease.

LOL! Yes you do need an arca-swiss compatible ball head. That is a solid ball head as well. Having a L bracket makes it much easier to position the camera from portrait to landscape with ease. I have the Arca-swiss Z-1 and it holds my 8 1/2 lb rig very well.

You'll probably want to invest in a long lens support system.

I had a job coming up in cramped quarters on location so I picked up a "Tripad" on sale for $92.

It is a triangle/table device that fits over your tripod and holds a laptop. It quickly and easily snaps together and/or apart for storage.

Upon removing it from the box my first impression was less than flattering :)

Perhaps it is the fact that my Slik Pro X700 has leg warmers but it doesn't allow for much adjustment. And it is not exactly rigid but was fine for strobe work or delayed shutter release.

I wouldn't exactly call it a flaw but it is limited in that you can not adjust your laptop screen for optimal viewing while standing. The salesman did say they are designed for 15" laptops and mine is a 17"...

Anywho, I didn't trust the front lip to keep the laptop from falling off the slippery plastic surface so I installed velcro tabs.

It did indeed come in handy for the shoot and I will not be returning it.

I soon had the clients squatting a bit to view the images at the correct angle, he, he...
