Been planning on replacing my "A10 Rig" a PC I built in Jan 2013. It will be retired to the 'scanning room' where it will run my scanner for when I get around to digitizing my stash old family photos.
My new rig will be a Ryzen 7 . I built it with video editing in mind. Now that I drone and the D500 can shoot 4K video been thinking of playing a bit more with video. I found the old A10 just took too long to render. And I game - yep - and old gaming grandpa - game of choice is X-Plane flight simulator which totally taxes the A10 - this build should 'ace' it.

Two items just purchased. One came today. The Nikon 40mm f/2.8 Micro. Super sharp from the test shots I've taken.. and nice that it focuses really close up. I won't use it as a macro lens, just nice to have that option with a somewhat normal lens.

The other item will be a very slightly used sb700. One set of batteries ran thru it. He also threw in a Magmod kit with flash diffuser. I will receive it Thursday

That 40mm DX macro is a nice little lens!

I splurged and bought a used Nikon 55-300VR lens for my D7200 at MPB. Like new condition for half the price of a new one. Tried it out for a few minutes on the birds in the back yard, and it seems to work well. I will use it to supplement the 18-140VR that came with the camera. I read where this lens doesn't have the fastest auto-focus, but most of my photos are travel/landscape, with occasional wildlife. I think it will be fine.

(PS - I just noticed the gold print on the lens appears to be smudged in the photo (where it says AF-S), but I must have been blocking the light. The lens and all print appears to be like new, just as they advertised it.

Just bought my wife a Panasonic Lumix FZ200 (4.5-108 f/2.8 constant f/stop -- 25mm-600mm)
Her Panasonic DMC ZS5 has massive dust on the sensor.

for the second time..

Tokina

same price as the first one i bought 3 yrs ago. since the reimbursement (see post under Lenses/Wide Angle) completely covered this price, the only thing i had to pay for was the 3 yr drops and spills warranty for $27 which came in very handy the first time around.
reasons other than price include the zoom capability, the larger aperture and free shipping. plus there just wasn't a lot of reasonably priced alternatives out there. for zooms anyway.

Glad to hear you were able to make a decision. Sitting on the fence can be so daunting because we tend to weigh the options countless times. Now get back to enjoying taking photos with it! :)

I had a SB-700 that was "borrowed and never returned" a few years ago. I never got any inkling of who "borrowed" it.

So long Yongnuo, hello Godox!

This Godox V860II will pair up with my Godox AD200 and round out my basic, two-strobe, mobile lighting kit. I will NOT missing lugging around all those AA batteries.
