Here is a couple from the 24 May 2016 at Presque Isle State Park in Erie, PA. Used a D500 with a Nikon 28mm F/3.5 lens, HDR on both.

This is my first "planned" landscape picture. I have taken many pictures of landscapes, but this is the first one I actually planned and waited for. It is the first of several I took waiting for the sunset to hit the mountain, about 5 minutes before sunset.

I welcome any suggestions on how to make it better.

I hear these are called "Simpsons Clouds" (after the cartoon TV show).

For this one I was on this hilltop meadow looking West. (see map)
I went up there to look for a geocache hidden at the cemetery.

Thanks for the input Nikonpup. During about a 15 minute period, I took many pictures of the box as the sun set. This one was at 300mm so I could frame it in the trees. Most of them were at 28-80mm range to capture more of the range. The only problem with those that I have not figured out if or how to process in Lightroom was the high humidity of the day left them very hazy. The goal for the zoomed in composition was to isolate the Box from everything else and just frame it in the trees. I will clean up one of the full scene pictures and post.

This actually reminds me of a '50's travel post card I have seen of this particular mountain.

Nikonpup... wanted to get your input on the same shot right at sunset with a full view of the Brazos Box with the valley in front. I am still trying to figure out how to get more of the haze out, but this is what I have so far. Any suggestions? (both on the processing and the composition) BTW, my focus point on this is the Steeple in the center, lower third of the picture.

Thanks for your help.

For what it's worth, I like the framing on the shots (above). I consider it to be a good technique. Your mileage may vary, of course, but that's what makes a horse race.
