We apartment dwellers are at a disadvantage as we do not come into contact with many hummingbirds. this is the only one I have

He's a faithful little fellow though and stays on the shelf in my living room to keep me company.

I was hoping, with the nice bright light today, to get some good shots at the afternoon feeding, but the wind came up very gusty and they gave up, so I only got a couple of shots

That's no Humming bird!

Sorry if I'm off subject here, but wanted to point out to keep your eyes on your feeders. I have found out that Baltimore Orioles like humming bird nectar just as much if not more than humming birds. Sucker has emptied my feeder in a matter of two weeks.

Richard, that "hummingbird" feeder is the same configuration as an oriole feeder !

No wonder they emptied it

BTW - depending on your weather two weeks may be too long to leave the solution without changing it...

If it starts to look cloudy it's just past time.
