So here comes a slew of these in the next few days. Thank GAWD there are a bunch in my area, so I don't have to deal with human-sardine-can that is DC right now.

Red Bud grows profusely in the mountains here. Strange though it is always purple.
Got lucky and captured the morning dew.

Think my father did it with Hydrangeas,putting rusty iron on the roots to turn them blue.

According to the collective knowledge of the Internet, this is a myth. Adding aluminium sulphate to the soil can change their colour, but adding iron does nothing. This is because the red dye anthocyanin, present in their sepals, can bind aluminium creating a blue anthocyanin-aluminium complex.

In my case it was a simple intake of a dye.
