Wev, your post says it is OK to edit so I took the first picture and the only thing I did to it was to add a plus one to the exposure. I will be glad to mind my own business if you prefer.

Wev, are you taking these in manual mode? I see you have changed the EV setting but the F stop shutter speed and ISO you used would require a tremendous amount of light. These are also still dark. I am not trying to aggravate you by asking, I'm just trying to figure out what is going on.

I would have answered sooner, but the reply with quote is having issues and keeps going into endless stalls.
Yes -- I was shooting with my 90 macro and a diffuse flash. These whites were n deep shadow, but I intentionally undershot them on a whim and did PP in a similar moody vein. Just a personal fiddle; here are two other shots of the same, more exposed and adjusted

Heavens, I don't mind -- its all just good fun and I was little bored. I notice your +1 added a good deal of red to the white, but that may be degradation from the forum picture handling and compression, which isn't great.

After the hot summer, roses have started to bloom as the days cool down. The bulk of them will start coming up in end of November. Here a few shots from out park.
