First sign of spring around our home. I'm not sure what these are; maybe daffodils? I don't know anything about plants, but I like their color. The flowering plant is only 6" tall.

A daff it is. One of the first spring flowers, along with the thingy and the whatsit (I am no expert, but I recognise the national flower of Wales!).

Thank you Jonathan. This is all making sense to me now. We received these last year at a family reunion at which most everyone there could trace their heritage to Scotland two centuries ago. I should have known that my cousin wouldn't just give any old plant as a gift. :)

Daffodils. I cannot compete with the sharpness of some incredible pics, too many factors against it: Newbie, Manual control, Wide aperture 1.8 or 2, Asahi ST 50mm 1.8 lens.

Although I've never been able to travel to the UK, I should. Two of my Mom's sisters (all US born) married Brits upon the close of WW-II and lived their entire lives thereafter in England. I have cousins all over England, so I should add travel to my must-do list.
