Went for a walk with the family when I saw this thing.
I'm not sure what this is called but I had to snap a pic.

It may be a coral bean.

If it is, the pods contain poisonous, bright red seeds.

I Googled coral bean and they don't seem to look the same. I'm no botanist by any means, guess I should study up a little on flowers. I took some more photos of flowers that
I have no idea of what they are called the same day. I'll post more when I get a chance.

I couldn't find any good photos when I did the search this morning. This is a page from my National Audubon book. I thought it looked close to your photo.

Marilynne, You are so lucky living where you do, and are able to photograph all these beautiful flowers. I have some great 35mm shots of flowers I took in North Africa (if I can find them) I'll scan them in
