It is an excellent lens. I had it for a while but found it to be just a little to heavy for me to hand hold successfully.

I was thinking of getting a 150mm macro lens before I bought this, but they all looked heavy. Everyone of them had a tripod collar.:) I even looked at the Tokina 180mm macro, but decided on a lighter lens as I knew I would be handholding it most of the time.

It is heavy, but it's a very sharp lens. But the depth of field is so so narrow when wide open that it has to be used judiciously. I'll see how the morning sun can help me out tomorrow. Today was done in shade so I was using slow shutter speeds and hand held.

As promised, here are some flower shots done this morning early with the Df and Sigma 150 macro. Same flowers, but different light and point of view. All from camera jpeg's processing. I have to admit that one thing so so nice about mirrorless is the fact that you can see the histogram BEFORE you press the shutter button. It's so much easier to control exposure without chimping.

I had to stop myself because I could have posted about a dozen of them...

But then I took a few more with the X-E2 and my old Canon 35-105 manual focus and I get nice out of camera jpegs that keep me very happy...
