Must be a British thing, these gates and fences that dont keep things in or out...

2 gates, not quite attached to the drystone walls.

you can see the other way.

Its a public footpath (right of way) that runs across farmland close to where I live. Not sure if there is an equivalent in the US.

The little Yellow arrows are put there by the local town council to indicate which way you should go to keep on the path.
If you are found deviating from the path the farmers can get a bit cross.

Her photo is good but her painting is remarkable. Hope you have it prominently displayed.
