Mine is a tossup between these 2 images. Two years ago I came across them publicly performing. However, they had just finished their performance. Last year and this year I was invited back to photograph them again. They are Mexican Aztecs – some of whom travel from Mexico to Pennsylvania (USA) just to participate. Their costumes are all handmade and very ornate. This year they didn't want their event to be widely publicized despite a huge interest locally after people saw last year's photos. So this year there was quite a bit of disappointment by the public when they realized they missed seeing the event.

This was my accidental favorite, in trying to spark interest for a weekly I traveled to this drive in. Being a warm day it was crazy crowded I'm dodging cars in the parking lot with my tripod and this angle looked the best. Knowing and accounting for the highlight/shadow changes in post I made my best experienced guess at exposure. I really did not see the Moon in the sky, it is visible (barely) in the RAW file and came out nicely when shadows were lifted. Most of the time I seem to get lucky as apposed to being good at composing. American Graffiti was the first movie I saw in an indoor theater, this was my inspiration for this shot (BTW I make a concerned effort to not have an idea for a shot when picking a topic).

I couldn't decide between 3 pictures, but I only posted 2. The first one is of a Brown Thrasher which usually fly away as soon as you see them. This one was upset that I dared to walk through his hunting honey hole and stayed around to let me know his displeasure and he happened to do it in good lighting and setting. The second one is the snake and I love that he is in focus along with the path he is getting ready to travel. If it had been another animal, than a snake, it would remind me of Psalm 5:8
