Always wonder how one would compare Macro/close-up images shot by Macro vs telephoto lens?

I have tried shooting them with a legit macro, but they zip away in an instant when you get anywhere close enough. Even at the minimum focal of the tel, it's luck.

That's true, but it would be a bit far away from the tiny insect where you may not even see/notice it. Surely luck is king.
