It is -- one of my favorites. On the 1 to 10 insect pain scale, they rank at 10+2. Luckily, they are very reluctant to sting unless truly provoked.

OMGosh! I just googled Tarantula Hawk those things are huge! While your picture is beautiful I am so glad we don't have those in Kentucky.
