I stopped to visit my parents today at the West Virginia Veterans' Cemetery in Grafton. Dad served in the US Navy from 1949-1951. Beautiful day, and I had my camera in the car. First time I've had it out in a couple of months. Tried the circular polarized lens that came with it.

The cemetery is filling quickly with Korea and Vietnam vets. If you know any vets, please go visit them while you can. The VA hospitals have lots of vets who would love to talk with someone on a rainy day. Thanks!

This bench is near their grave. I'm sure they spend a lot of time sitting here together looking out over the hills.

The bench is also near the flag.

Very peaceful.

Stopped by the Don Knotts / Barney Fife memorial in downtown Morgantown WV (his hometown and my current home). It's in front of the old Metropolitan Theater. He always brings a smile to my face.

Looks like I need to learn how to use a small bit of fill flash.

I think you will have to click for full size.

Barney Fife. One of my favorites. The show still makes me laugh.

OK, my "new" lens just arrived in the mail. I splurged and bought a used ("like new") Nikon 55-300VR lens at MPB. Tried it out on a few birds in the back yard and am pleased. I read where it's not the fastest auto-focus lens, but most of my photos are travel/landscape with some birds and wildlife. I think it will be a fine supplement to the 18-140VR lens that came with the camera.

(Note: cropped and re-sized in Photoshop Elements. I removed the small branch growing out of its head, too. LOL)

After several cycles of 70s, snow, 70s, and snow, it stayed warm this week and the cherry (?) blossoms were out at our local rail-trail park, Hazel Ruby McQuain Park, in Morgantown WV. I had a couple of hours to take photos while I was waiting for my wife to get off work. Hope you enjoy them.
