Took my D500 with a new Siggy 18-250 all rounder lens into Legoland Florida.
That lens worked well on the D500 even if it was a bit of a mis-match.
I knew that swapping lenses would not be easy in an amusement park.
I was not expecting so much nature - including Ospreys. There is a full bortanical garden and I was able to zoom in on the Osprey and macro on the flower.
Sure this isn't the best birder lens nor the best macro lens - but for a do-everything lens it did what I wanted.
Having it on the D500 was great in that I was able to get crop-a-lot and deal with crazy lighting variations.
Glad I packed a plastic bag (rain-jacket) for the D500 for shooting near water rides even though we had no rain.
Legoland use to be Cypress Gardens. Glad to hear they're keeping some of the gardens going.
Really?!! My mom, grandmother, cousin, and I went to Cypress Gardens in 1974. It was so beautiful. I had no idea it wasn't still around.![]()

Just a couple of sample shots from that FB page
Way in the back corner of Legoland - far enough away from the noise of the kids and rides - the perfect escape for exhausted grandparents.
Glad to see they maintained some of it. Guess they did away with the water skiing. I understand they repaired the State of FL swimming pool.
Legoland bought it in 2010 after Cypress Gardens closed in 2009.
.... And the "State of Florida" shaped pool is still there, it was full of water, not sure it is intended to be used, maybe as a wading pool? We saw it right at the edge of their grounds (or so it would seem).
