I fancy clouds these days. I wish we had some thunder and lightning. I'm waiting on that since August but no luck this far.

Spot metered right into the Sun. Hope I didn't damage the 7100 sensor. (Or is that just a myth?)

If that would damage the sensor, mine would be charcoal. Maybe when pointed at it for too long but normal use I doubt it would do much harm. Unless you're shooting live, the sensor is only exposed during the shot.

I first wondered if my lens was dirty but the strange colors appears to be cloud iridescence (or irisation?)

Some cumulus fractus ahead of some winter weather. The second image has a little evening pink. I'd have liked to have gotten some more color but the sky became quickly overcast and blocked the light. :grumpy: D700 + Nikkor 18-35mm f/3.5-4.5, 18mm, 1/250 @ f/8, ISO 200.

Challenge Team
On my walk before church this morning, I really enjoyed the beautiful clouds and sky. Took three handheld shots and combined them in MSICE. Here is the result. If I can't get my "Blue" idea together, I may have to use this for the weekly challenge. Ha! It might be a Light-Shadow entry for the monthly tool. Have to get as much mileage out of it as I can. :D
