I first process a B&W version and then create one or two outline versions with a "sketch" app. In my case this one: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/photosketcher/id463633845?mt=12

Then I import all in Affinity and blend them together. And erase, dodge/burn if needed.

It's a bit of work but fun.
