Thanks! To be honest, it's just a tweak on a higher contrast B&W conversion with a clarity boost and a bit of extra sharpening/detail on the musician himself. Can't really tell ya the exact process, as with B&W's, I usually tinker a lot until it just feels right. I may have used Perfect Effects 8, can't really remember if I kept any of those settings or not (probably some of the contrast adjustments and initial B&W convert), but I know I did a lot of tone mapping/tinkering in LightRoom afterward.

There's a free version of the Perfect FX 8, btw. Free Effects for Photoshop – Perfect Effects 8 Free Edition – onOne Software

It's not the NIK collection, but love the different options it gives ya, and it allows you to layer effects!

Cromford Mill was the first water-powered cotton spinning mill developed by Richard Arkwright in 1771 in Cromford, Derbyshire, England. This building is just outside the mill (possibly the "bosses" house maybe... The whole area is full of history and interest.
