Amazing interference pattern, where you using a filter?

Its called moire I think. It is caused by the sensor not being able to resolve the small repetitive detail on the subject. Lots of cameras have filters to prevent this happening. Not sure if the D7000 has one or not. Not seen such a striking example as your shot though.

Just tried a few of the removing moire tutorials on your shot (hope thats OK ) and I can't get any of them to work. They might work if you start with the original colour version remove the moire first and then convert to B&W at the final stage.
