The ones I posted are cropped a little bit. Not much. I did sharpen them in post just a bit. But to be honest the really didn't need it. I do it out of habit more than anything.

Cool! Seems like you were able to get relatively close up to the birds and had decent light. Even so, this is impressive work! I've been told before that 10-16MP is plenty and 24MP is generally overkill, but your series really drives that home to me!

Well I would disagree with that statement. Even when I crop just a little bit, it limits the size prints I can get. I like big prints. And with just 12 megapixels, if I want to get a big print, I really need to not crop it. I dream of having 24 to play with. Might not need it all the time. But if you want big prints, you will need more than I have if you need to crop. and when you shoot birds, you need to crop.

Good point. In my use case where I never really print any of my shots and shoot RAW, higher MP ends up being a liability for the most part due to larger file size that can cause bottlenecks in- and off-camera.
