I have a mallard couple who make my pool one of their hangouts every spring (seems like spring to them this week). Started shooting them this week and lucked into filling the frame with this one. To get them to fly away, my terrier mutts are barking at them and I have to rush the pool. Needless to say, I'm on top of the action.

As lucky as I was to get Daffy when he was right in front of me, I chopped off his tail feather. I had to fix him. Thanks CS6.

It was taken almost directly into the sunrise so it's underexposed giving the backlight effect.

Yes really enjoying the challenge, and learning about birds as I go, although the other day I nearly fell over, tracking a bird in flight, it was moving from left to right, I was moving my body but not my feet

Its the over head ones that get me

I can see how that can happen. I try to only rotate my hips when tracking a bird, unless I do have to reposition myself.
