Thanks Wayne and Woody. The siblings were practicing flying in the wind. I only had the 18-200mm and waited until they flew right over me for that first shot.

Not really a birder but I got this shot, dare I say, "on the fly" (ha!) yesterday and thought it was kind of fun...

I don't really do birds, but I was taking a Nikon 24-70 for a test run yesterday and shooting anything that was around. These seagulls were flying low so i thought I'd see how fast the lens was. The first pic is not cropped, so the fella flew pretty close by. Probably needed more DOF to get both wings in focus but I like the shot. The second pic is cropped to 3/4 of its original size. The 24-70 is not exactly a birding lens but I had fun anyway

Well ya done real good with a short lens like that. Thanks very much. They sure moved pretty fast, I'm just impressed with how well the lens kept focus.
