I sat with my eye glued to the viewfinder for 20 minutes to get this one! :sleeping:

PS: Does anyone else think that looks like a sculpture of Rod Stewart on its left wing? :D

Thanks, @scott. I have been trying an open ISO 100-400, so I can shoot at 1/2000 in light shadow. Not wild about the grain in the background when cropped in, but the hummer looks nice.

Thanks Kevin! Now that I'm getting "into" this birding thing I need all kinds of new gear! :)

Unfortunately, these are huge crops, my longest lens is the 70-200 f4, on Fx it doesn't give me much reach!

They're no as fast as pigeons, but mocking birds are still pretty darn quick -- launch and flight
