What's your suggestion to make the "wing part" superlative clear? decrease aperture?

I've some BIF before, but had a chance to shoot a lot of them this morning. Herons were nesting and flying back and forth between the nests on the little island to the trees in the surrounding woods. I have a lot to learn, and need to change a few settings, but got a few keepers.
