I love this shot. You are turning out to be quite the BIF shooter my friend.
What species of bird is this? I love the yellow /brown/black/white coloring.
Thanks Pete they are Gannets,flying below my level as I was on a cliff top.
Thanks Mike. I love BIF shots that are taken at eye level or below.

So I put my 105 macro lens on to go shoot some flowers and maybe a bug or two.
Look up and see this;
call it a flyby point the camera and pull the trigger - I got what I got.
Then I'm out bug hunting but so is this robin - now this is 'in flight" but very low flight it is.
aint pretty but at least it is in focus
as is this one - kinda sort a

Well it was close but no cigar - this is about as close to focused as I've been able to get with BIF.
And while the focus point is not on the bird it is 'close' to the same plain as the bird - had I not been at 2.8 DOF might have been a bit more forgiving.
