Re: Bird in Flight

Marylinne, can you detail how you are processing your shots? Software you use, what changes you are making to each shot. It might be my monitor, but some shots look like they might be overly processed with sharpening, or unmasking functions. It might also be the time of day playing havoc. The sun looks very bright for egret shots. It is very hard to hold the whites when it get into the middle of the day. Did you get lucky enough to capture any birds flying towards you?

Steve, I use ViewNX2 to process. I add a little sharpening and a little color, nothing else.

Most of the birds are spooked by people on the boardwalk and they usually fly away, not towards me.

I really like back button focusing. Always in AF-C, always using best focus point and flexible composition. Now I'm used to it I'd get confused switching back.

What is even worse is you know the focus freeze trouble ime having with the Tamron well i thought i had it with the sigma today, setting up before going down to the lake and the sigma would not focus, tried the switching off and on then manual focus until its nearly in focus but nothing worked, then remembered its not the shutter button for focus :D.
