Northern flicker. Without seeing the tail feather,can't tel if it is yellow or orange fletched or a hybrid of the two.

Thanks, Wev. Since the one, I photoed in CA has a gray face, no nape crescent, and a red mustache stripe, I suspect it's a Red-shafted Male?
