We see the odd Bald Eagle around here but they are certainly not common, and whenever they're spotted it's always over one of out lakes. So I was actually quite startled when I walked out my door this afternoon and saw one circling over my house deep in the woods. They're not great shots, as it took me a minute to sprint back and grab my camera and by the time I got back he was higher in the sky and still rising. But they're my first eagle captures, so I was pretty excited.
