Brown Goshawk.

We have a bird feeder and tend to get several sparrows, pigeons, cow birds, starlings, red-winged blackbirds, and an occasional cardinal or blue jay. Of course the hawks now check out our yard more often than I'd like. This is a Red-Tailed Hawk. I think it has a sparrow (based on what I can see in a few other photos). My Australian Shepherd and I were playing ball when I noticed the hawk. I squeaked the heck out of my Aussie's ball (much to her chagrin), but the hawk only stopped to watch. Even when I threw the ball straight up in the air, the hawk didn't budge.
