Anyone wanna take a shot at this one? I first assumed it to be an old coot, being gray and such, but here we only have the Eurasian and they have red eyes. I have no idea what this one is. First time ever.

This years young coot

It's bigger than the "older" coots. Could be a normal one that got some issue. It's full of coots here but this one is the only exception.

I've seen and shot some when they were just out and they're ugly bastards but never seen one at this stage if it is a young. Fascinating they change eye color if it is one.

Deffo on the young Coot. Their eyes are quite dark at first, as they mature they become that vivid red colour
