Ring Necked Parakeet's in Abbey Wood, London. For those that don't know, these birds are wild and plenty of flocks live in the South East of the UK. Seems a bit strange that they choose to live here but seem to do ok. I was in Abbey Wood in December too and it was -5degC and they were still happy flying around. One rumour suggest that Jimi Hendrix owned some and when he died they were released. Although that is a pretty cool story, I doubt it's true, they were originally spotted on the South Coast, so a flock probably just arrived one day and are now spreading out. There has even been sightings in the Midlands now too. It causes panic when people see them as they think they have escaped from somewhere.
I wasn't there to photography them, I was there for a weekend in London (without the camera), so didn't get much time. I could of spent all day watching/photographing these birds along with all the other birds at Abbey Wood.
