My first Pileated Woodpecker. Spotted him from our picnic table and moved closer. Never looked down, just away.

I had quite a variety here today. These Red-bellied Woodpeckers are extremely bashful. They, as all the birds seem to, seem to like the warm exhaust from the clothes drier. It makes it difficult to get a good picture, though.

Here they are the curious type and if you hang around and keep still, they come reasonable close while checking you out.

It was a little busy with people at the local country park this afternoon, so any real noise and the bird flew away, now I know where they are, I will go again on sunday morning when its quiet.
