With enough light so you don't need to go above ASA 400, the D300 still delivers! I recently retired mine but that does not mean that it will necessarily just sit on the shelf.

True.But FYI. This was shot at ISO 3200. I am amazed how well they turned out. At least I think they did.

Had to look this one up - I believe what we have here is the "Dark Eye'd Junco" - (or more correctly the Darkeyed Junco - the spelling police got me) Still never heard of it - may have seen them before as they are pretty common but I've never identified one.
Had a small flock of them in our yard today.
Didn't seem to mind the snow
