That is a Northen Flicker. These are one of my favorite birds, and they are pretty common in Colorado. I didn't know they could be found in S California. Nice shots.

I called one of the bird guys at the college and he had never seen one here -- got him all excited.

This owl pair have a nest in a tree within 100 feet of my house, but I never noticed them. Yesterday I spied them for the first time

Nice start,well caught,IMO you have the color saturation a little high,did a rework but its quick and dirty as they say and i may have knocked it down a bit much.

Looking at some other prints it seems I have an over saturation tendency , I do like bright colours but some just
don't need it

So my wife and I bought ourselves a couple of bird feeders for our 32nd anniversary. We set them up last week in the back yard. Those pictured approve of this neighborhood improvement project.

You need a Tamron 150-600
