Don't I know it. The only time I can get close is if they are distracted by something. The males seem to be much more skiddish.

This one was across a lake, so there was no way I could get closer. When I see them on wires, Chris usually rides past first and they fly off when they see me heading in their direction.

Been trying find out what kind of bird in my last post #6753 is by looking in the RSPB bird finder but I can't find one like it.
Anyone got an idea
