These are superb Don! Most do not show exif data but the one that does is 140mm... How close were you???

I was on a raised walkway above a pond with about 200+ gators in it. The trees/birds are about eye-level with the walkway. Most of the birds are less than 50 to 75 feet away. Some probably as close as 20 feet. We learned that these birds like to build their rookeries about gators since it keeps away all the other predators like snakes, raccoons and other predators that will steal the eggs.
