Very nice,i need my 300 and 1.4 to start competing with feather detail:D,i find Goldfinches one of the most difficult to get feather detail in.
Cheers Mike, but i don't think you do too bad, in fact pretty well tbh! Like you said earlier, Goldfinches seem to be everywhere, but I do have a soft spot for them. However, that's a long story

Saw an owl in a tree in my yard today, a little one about 2PM. I think that's the first one I ever saw not on TV or a zoo. This is in the Dallas metroplex, pretty far from the forest.

I think it is a non-breeding male given the strong color -- more like a Marilyn Manson Monroe -- but who cares these days? Lovely shot

Don't think so, this is a non breeding male. The belly is mostly white and the head doesn't display the full black patch...

The Muscovy and the Black Bellied Whistling Ducks took turns watching the ducklings. Couldn't figure out who the ducklings belonged to until I got home and checked my book. They are Black Bellied Whistling Ducklings.

Not sure if he is resting or looking at something. He stayed like this for about five minutes.
