Ya'll military bases don't mind shooting photos around the runways?
No, they don't mind, but i don't think they have much of a choiceYa'll military bases don't mind shooting photos around the runways?
I was stationed at RAF Coltishal when the BBMF were based there.
Were you there during the Jag days?
Wow, now that was a plane!Second tour yes, first tour it was Lightnings.
Yes, its a pity Thunder City don't fly anymore. Mind you, i think a flight was around 10k, which was beyond my reach.Yes, it was absolutely awesome. Pass anything except a fuel station, those two Avons were thirsty beasts. It's hard to think that the great aircraft on my day are now vintage classics. You might enjoy this.

There is a pretty good relationship between the photographers and the RAF police and base security, they usually stop by to have a chat or wave as they drive by. They intervene if they see anybody trying to climb up the fence or put ladders up against it to try and get that better shot. I think they know that we would report anything suspicious that we saw going on.Ya'll military bases don't mind shooting photos around the runways?
Glad you enjoyed the BBMF shots. A flight in Lightning! Now I am seriously jealous, last Lightning show at Binbrook has to be the best air show I ever went to, I still vividly remember it and I was only 15!Fortunately, I didn't have to pay for my flights.
