Yeh, and to think I held that bloody great body/lens up until my arms ached waiting for it take off : ).
Seriously though, that particular type of parrot I've not seen out the front of my house before. Took some stationary shots in the morning but a few of them turned up again late in the afternoon. Sun sets in that direction and instead of it taking off downwards towards the shadows it headed up into the light. I tried to make something of it in Lightroom but not to my satisfaction. Still, sitting on the deck with a single malt and a camera in hand in the afternoon having birds come to you is not the greatest chore.

Alan if you blink fast a few times you see it in better focus.

I liked the idea, but the framing turned out to be "meh" and the focus ended up off somehow.

Glad you like it. I have had to do this with a lot of my wildlife shots.

I tried to get this one in focus but it was to windy. The 16-85mm as a great AF and did not that bad.

Those tiny fiash were so fast - couldn't get the right in focus - Maybe the 50mm next time instead the 16-85mm

It is in front of a noodle-shop in a waterflower-pot, the fish which you can see at almost every house who has Chinese roots means happiness and freedom.
