Post your 'ALMOST' Photos..

We have a bunch of sparrows that have taken up residence in our rhododendron bush. They have been driving the cats nuts (which keeps them occupied for hours). So, this afternoon, I thought I'd try to get a photo of them. I definitely couldn't do it from outside, so I decided to try the cat's eye view from inside. I opened the window and shot this through the screen. I used manual focus because I figured the screen would screw up the autofocus. My shutter speed was way too slow. Oh, well, I have until the fall to get at least one decent photo.

The weird thing about this photo is that I like this photo even though it is extremely "soft" to say the least.

Saw this Godzilla sized bee. Had the camera all set, focus dialed in, and pulled the trigger. Unfortunately that was the same moment he jumped into flight and I got a big old bee butt picture.

This one looked so much different in my mind than it did when I snapped the photo and imported it to my laptop. I am not sure what I was thinking at the time, it must have been the cough syrup ... Thats the ticket I was feeling ill and it was the cough syrup.

This is a female goldfinch. It looked a whole lot better in person. I saw it fly by and land on the bush. I had my lens on manual and I was fumbling for the focus ring. What ever happened to those nice, big, fat focus rings???

This huge monster rarely comes close unless we are waaaay back from the windows. I'm sure he knows we would rather point something else at him. I was standing back in kitchen shooting out the window at a strangely quiet red winged black bird when I heard the monsters thwap thwap of wings and saw him fly out from behind the barn (about 120-130ft away) but couldn't zoom out fast enough to fit him all in. He hasn't gotten that big without being extremely careful of what's being pointed at him so grumpy that I messed up my chance

We have 4 pairs of ravens nesting around here but this one is at least 3 times their size and VERY aware of humans. It spotted me standing back inside the window and quickly changed course wish I'd known he was there so I could have coming around the barn for perspective but when he lands he's at least as tall as my geese
