I had an amazing 2 minutes whilst out for a little walk today.. middle of the afternoon. Walking along some rough ground along a farm field i spot a green woodpecker fly behind a tree, i was too slow to catch a shot of it.. pretty rare, so I quietly walk towards the area and as i walk around a tree a large rabbit bounces through some beautifully lit bluebells.. would have made a wonderful shot, but again i was too slow, I'm hoping the green woodpecker will show up again... then not 15 foot away a fox, obviously hunting the rabbit, slinks through he undergrowth! I couldn't get a good shot of it... but i tied!

I defiantly being going back to that spot! 2pm middle of the day.

Nice:) If you did not have your camera set this way already, it would be a good idea to use single point focus on your next walk. Hope you can get some good shots of the fox or rabbit - if he is still around, lol - next time out.

I use one of my custom settings options, U1, when i'm walking about unsure what i'll shot.

I have it set to Shutter Priority, 1/1200 sec, continuous focus (9 point), iso 2000... kind of my unexpected action setting.. not sure its the best.. always happy to receive advice!

I was watching a pair of cardinals on the lawn. They decided to fly off. Here is my attempt at getting the male cardinal in flight. It looks more like an impressionist painting of a cardinal in flight. The bird is the red blur in the center of the photo, if you were wondering. :)

I was resting my new 50mm at late night to see how it performs. The flower in front of my office seems the right subject.

I focused - pressed the button .....

....and at that very moment an ant came up for dinner.
