There are many advantages to having a long zoom like the Tamron and many of them have been talked about at great length but there is one advantage of having it that I never see mentioned.. For me getting down on the ground at the subjects level to take pictures of animals such as the squirrel that I posted in the previous post is not an option for me but by being able to get farther away and cutting the angle down it looks like I was up close and down on it's level which gives me the same look. Also when taking birds in a tree at a distance it also cuts down on the upward angle giving my shot a more eye to eye look. I use my Tamron lens just about every time I go out shooting and very much enjoy having it.

Marilynne, you're putting the Tamzooka to great use!! Your shots, as well as some others in this thread are a great testimonial for this lens!
