a lot of the shots i have seen seem to be very impressive
i seem to be having trouble getting shots in focus handheld not sure if its my methods or the lens any suggestions ?

Keeping a heavy long lens like this absolutely stable is nigh on impossible. Handheld, its fast shutter speeds, or mono/tripod

At least while your getting the hang of it fire short bursts maybe 4 or 5 when your at the long end,use View nx and see where your focus point was on each shot,it can be frightening

Had a bit of time to calibrate needed a lot of adjustment at 3m for anyone who is interested here's the figures past 6m couldn't see that it needed any adjustments

600mm 3m +16
400mm 3m +16
250mm 3m +10
150mm 3m +4

600mm 6m -8
