I was the first one my local camera store sold one too and I understand one of the first in Canada to take delivery of one! (who really knows?) What I do know is that I pre-ordered it in mid-September (1st day possible) and I sprinted to the store to pick it up when it arrived in mid/late October last year!
I'll say that it is a camera that doesn't suffer fools gladly - that is, you will have to tame this beast through trial and error (and oh boy will there be errors!

) However once you get in the groove, it will help you render some impressive results.
To new owners - don't let yourself get overly frustrated, your efforts to learn how to get the best out of it will be rewarded.
While it does well with the 18-105, I do recommend using it with some of the better glass out there. I'm particulary happy pairing it with my Nikkor 17-55 2.8 (oh and get the battery grip! makes the whole thing far more stable and easy to control - IMHO)
