Being true to my word, I did convert those very ripe bananas from yesterday into some very tasty banana bread. Yes, we already had some. It is very, very good and won't last long, that's for sure. :)

I drive by this pond at least once a week. Sometimes there is nothing going on there. Other times, it is overrun with geese. Today was one of those days.

As soon as I put my lens capon the table, the girls decided to decide whose lens cap it was going to become. Alex (on the right) usually wins, but Creature (on the left) really gave it a good try. :) I don't know about other people's cats, but mine truly believe that possession is 9/10ths of the law. :)

Ooooo... Prey....

My dogs feel that way about my wife's chair. As long as they are in it and don't look at my wife staring at them they don't have to get up and let my wife sit there.

Just played around with available light, ISO 1600, and my 85mm f/1.8 AF Nikkor lens. I don't think I use this lens as much as I should, but when I do, I really like it. I have a hard time using an ISO above 400 because the noise gets to me. I guess I like my photos to be quiet. :)

I looked out the window this morning and noticed that it had snowed. When a went out later to go to work, I took this photo of the backyard. About 2 inches of snow had fallen. I took this at about 6:45 this morning while it was not fully light out yet.

When I came home this afternoon, I saw icicles hanging of the end of the bannister on the porch steps

Not the most exciting photo but it is from Spousal Unit's tractor collection: :)

As you can guess, it was a very long, strange day at work. Teaching science to adolescents is always interesting. :)

I have been having a battle with Jenny. She thinks the recliner is hers. She will try to ignore me, act like she is sleeping, or even stare right back at me when I tell her to get off the recliner. She will eventually comply, but try to make me feel guilty with the "poor, poor pitiful dog me" expression.

As I was coming out of Target late this afternoon, I saw this guy in a cherry picker changing the bulbs in the parking lot lights. When I got back to my car, I took this photo. If you look closely, you will see one of the bulbs in the guy's hand.

It was such a beautiful morning today that I enjoyed just sitting on the porch watching the birds visiting the bird feeder and the trees and bushes right nearby.

For some reason, this little chickadee did not want it's picture taken. I have a whole bunch of photos where only his/her beak or tail are visible.

This guy was rather more co-operative. )

As was this guy. :)

I took this photo this afternoon. I think it is one of the few times I was able to get a photo of a black bird that looked like more than a silhouette. I was really surprised that this guy's eye was actually visible. :)

This mourning dove decided to stop by and see what all the bird fuss was. It was watching me watch it. :)

Today was one of those dreary days. At some point this afternoon, someone (feline, canine, or human) was taking a nap. Alex was on the back of the recliner, snoring.

I have always found "junk art" very interesting. It amazes me how someone can take what most people would consider as trash, and turn it into something really cool. My parents picked this dog up years ago. I still like and and am amazed at how the artist was able to take some chain, a hammer head, and a horseshoe and turn it into something that you can recognize.

Not having a lot of time after work to get any interesting photos outside, I resorted to my fallback plan, opportunistic feline photo. :) Unlike Alex, Buster is not as thrilled to be photographed. He considers it an intrusion by humans.

I have 6 students in my photography elective this marking period. After a brief introduction about what photography is and its history, We went outside today to take some photos. The day was perfect: temperatures in the mid 40s (F), sunny, and no haze. The kids were having fun taking photos of wall textures, the playground, and each other's eyeballs. Don't ask, just understand that they are teenagers... Need I say more. While at the playground, one student took video of himself going down the slide. That was a rather interesting perspective. :)

I was able to get a couple of photos of the playground jungle gym without students because at that point, they were photographing each other's eyeballs. I suggested they go around taking more eyeball photos, then post them in the hallway with a challenge for their fellow students to identify who belongs to which eyeball. They thought I was weird. :)
